Accommodation at The Retreat Selous is in four different styles. In total, there are 12 tented suites that are situated a comfortable distance from one another, ensuring total privacy.
The spacious suites have palm thatched roofs and are protected by 2 layers - an inner wall made of mosquito netting and a heavy duty canvas wall on the outside.
Dressed in African influence, each suite is tastefully furnished in African antiques and natural materials. On the private outdoor deck, guests can relax in the outdoor bathtub, made of either antique copper, brass or silver.
A teak wood base acts as a platform for this romantic tree house in Selous, Tanzania. The open room has a large bed protected by mosquito nets and an outdoor bathroom shaded by a large evergreen tree. Views overlook the Ruaha River.
Based on an ancient First World War military observation point, the main building has been built in the style of a fort. The outside area has plenty of loungers set around the infinity pool. The views from the pool over the Ruaha River are stunning.
Up a flight of stairs is the dining area and the Star Bar. The dining area is covered by white billowing fabrics. The bar is open to the sun, so sundowners are enjoyed in the warm evening light.
