How to Get to Chada Katavi

Katavi National Park is Tanzania's third largest park, covering a massive area of approximately 2,253 km² (2,780 miles²).

Chada Katavi tented safari camp is situated in Katavi National Park, Tanzania, probably the most exciting game park in East Africa. Katavi National Park lies in the far west of Tanzania, not far from Lake Tanganyika and is just a charter flight away from Arusha or Dar es Salaam. Flights are advised as road transport is not very good. It is a tough day's drive from Mbeya 50km (340 miles) away, and a long way from anywhere else.

Katavi National Park is very attractive to seasoned safari adventurers, who want to experience a safari destination off the popular paths, within the boundaries of safe safari travel. First time African travellers will cherish this vacation destination for the sensations of wild Africa that Chada represents.

A visit to Katavi National Park is often combined with a trip to its sister lodge - Greystoke. Greystoke is an exotic retreat on a soft sand beach on the edge of Lake Tanganyika. A Robinson Crusoe meets Tarzan kind of place, with a backdrop of tropical forests full of hanging vines, waterfalls and Chimpanzees, and it's only a 40 minute flight west of Chada.

Please Note

Due to the nature of this location the baggage allowance on shared charters is 12 kilograms (26 pounds) per person, and this includes hand luggage. Any excess baggage will be left at airstrips.
