Katavi Wildlife Camp is seasonal and only open June to end February to coincide with the dry season. Katavi National Park, one of Tanzania's most westerly and remote parks, is beginning to gain recognition for the beauty and the quality of the game viewing found in the park.
Katavi is extremely remote and with just 200 visitors a year is the ultimate in secluded 'off the beaten track' Tanzania safari destinations. Its vast size, infinite grassland plains, isolation and inaccessibility have meant that herd sizes are huge and it is not unknown to see up to 1600 buffalo at once.
Katavi Wildlife Camp is the sister-camp of Ruaha River Lodge and run by the knowledgeable Fox family. Witness the daily drama of the African bush from your front porch as you gaze out over vast unending plains teeming with game - it is not uncommon to see predators on the hunt without moving from your veranda.
