Position of Tarangire Sopa Lodge

Tarangire National Park in Tanzania teems with wildlife throughout the year with a dense population during the dry season between June and October.

This Tanzania game lodge in Tarangire is about a 2 hour drive from Arusha, or a 20 minute flight followed by a 20 minute road transfer. Tarangire National Park has some of the largest herds of Elephant in Tanzania as well as other abundant wildlife.

Covering an area of 2600kmĀ² (104 square miles), Tarangire National Park in Tanzania is also home to prolific bird life, especially birds of prey - a huge attraction for ornithologists and birding enthusiasts. Tarangire Sopa Lodge is 118km (73 miles) south west of Arusha and located in a lush area with constant water, which is quite a contrast to the dry surroundings.

Climate

Temperatures generally fall between 21-27 degrees Centigrade (70-80 degrees Fahrenheit). The short rains in Tarangire National Park fall between November and December and the long rains between April and May. The dry season is from June to October.
