Arusha in Tanzania is the centre of exceptional safari activities in the highlands of Tanzania. Surrounded by magnificent national parks, Mount Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru and a host of top Arusha safari attractions, Arusha Serena Hotel is a great place to rest in between all the action.
Arusha lies halfway between the Cape and Cairo. It is not only the Tanzania’s most active tourism centre but also an important regional centre and host to a colourful array of street markets, museums and craft shops, Makonde carving workshops, street cafes, restaurants and bars. Many Arusha safari tour operators are based in the town. Arusha is now also well known for the excellence of its coffee, most particularly the Coffea Arabica grown on the slopes of Mount Meru and in the surrounding areas.
Arusha enjoys a temperate climate throughout the year. Two periods of monsoon winds bring rain. The long rains are from March to May, the short rains are between October and December.
Arusha Town is 20km from Arusha Serena Hotel and the closest major airport is Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) which is 60km away.
Arusha is serviced by an all weather air-strip and a well-maintained road network. There are daily internal flights from Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Mwanza. Several international airlines have flights into Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). Flights can also be booked to nearby Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park.
