A Walvis Bay conference or holiday here provides access to a wonderful array of activities like sea kayaking, sailing, Dolphin Cruises and fabulous dune boarding or Namib Desert 4x4 trails and ballooning.
One of the most popular Walvis Bay activities is the Dolphin Cruise, a boat excursion on the lagoon where visitors enjoy delicious snacks and drinks on board whilst pelicans and gulls fly alongside. Pink flamingos, cormorants and the Black Oyster Catcher can also be seen. In the clear waters dolphins and seals swim along and maybe even Leatherback Turtles. Between August and October whales visit the lagoon.
Guests as Protea Hotel Pelican Bay have the best of both worlds with exciting water activities on their doorstep and the magnificent dunes and Namib Naukluft Park behind. Walvis Bay has all modern amenities and there are a number of places to have a great meal or coffee and refreshments.
This town in Namibia is just 30 minutes from Swakopmund and all the exciting attractions there. On the way visitors can go to Dune 7 one of the biggest sand dunes in the world. It’s a challenge to reach the top but worth it for the views. South of Walvis Bay is Sandwich Harbour which is great for birders and anglers.
