Namib Naukluft National Park in Namibia is the largest game park in Africa (40 000 sq. km) and fourth largest in the world as well as the most unusual. The park consists of four sections: Sossusvlei and Sessriem, Naukluft, Namib section and Sandwich Harbour.
The vegetation of the Naukluft complex has been categorized as semi-desert savanna. It is home to some of the rarest and weirdest plant and animal species in the world, including the Welwitschia Mirabilis, large lichen fields, Aloe sladeniana, Aloe karasbergensis, cluster fig, Commiphora, Acacia (thorn), Euphorbia and Hartmann's Mountain Zebra. The wildlife and scenery make for a superb desert safari in Namibia.
