Self-drives and Guided Tours at Cape Cross Lodge

Cape Cross Lodge activities comprises of self-drives or guided tours to the Fur Seal colony.

At the Cape Cross Lodge in Namibia guests can enjoy an array of activities during their Skeleton Coast Safari.

Safari Drives

Visitors can self-drive or join a guided tour to the colony during their Namibia holiday. Lichen fields found around this area in northern Namibia include all 6 types. Attention to detail will reveal the 'Little 5' in terms of reptiles, insects, scavengers and carnivores. The common black-backed Jackal is seen prowling the edges of the colonies at day, whilst the brown Hyena is a bolder predator amongst the nurseries and younger seals during darkness.

Museum

Visit the lodge within the museum and observe the remnants of the past settlers who defied the harsh elements of the of the Namibian Coast.

Art Gallery

Observe the kaleidocsope of watercolour portraits created by local Namibian artists Conni and Nadine Downing at the dining area of the Cape Cross Lodge. The work of the mother and daughter duo illustrates the beautiful surroundings and wildlife of the Skeleton Coast and the Greater Namibia.

Weddings and Special Events

Cape Cross Lodge caters for honeymoon packages, formal occasions, private dinners on the beach and picnic excursions into the surrounding desert or along the bay north of the Lodge.
