Game Viewing at Mchenja Bush Camp

At Mchenja Bush Camp guests can enjoy day and night game viewing drives, sighting some of the best game in Africa.

The South Luangwa National Park is home to elephants, Buffalo and lions. There are also regular sightings of various Antelope, Giraffe, Zebra, Puku, Bushbuck, Warthog and Baboons and Hippos.

Game viewing activities are tailored to the guests in camp at the time but usually small parties are taken into the park twice daily in open vehicles on this Zambia tour.

Game Drives

Night drives on this Zambia tour with a spotlight are one of the highlights of the Luangwa Valley giving the chance to see nocturnal animals such as Hyena, Porcupine, Civet, Genet, Honeybadger and particularly Leopard for which the area is now famous.

Bush Walks

Walking safaris from camp are not strenuous and are conducted a pace determined by our guests but usually last 3 to 4 hours. They are led by a fully qualified guide and armed game scout.

Sleepout

Experience a sleepout and go back into the bush for the ultimate safari experience at Mchenja Bush Camp. Enjoy the sounds of the midnight bush as you drift off to sleep beneath a blanket of a million brilliant stars, much like the first explorers did. This is made sure to be a memorable and pleasurable experience with a gourmet staff, a bush loo and a comfortable bedroll.
