Livingstone town in Zambia was established in 1905 by the Victorian explorer, Dr David Livingstone. In 1911 it was made the capital of Northern Rhodesia.
The capital was moved to Lusaka in 1935, leaving Livingstone to become an oasis for travellers visiting Victoria Falls and the surrounds on a Zambia safari. Livingstone is accessible all year round.
There are daily scheduled and charter flights to Livingstone Airport. The roads in and around Livingstone are tarred and well-maintained. In and around Livingstone are various activities on offer - golf, sunset river cruises, houseboats, white water rafting, bungee jumping, safaris, fishing, spa treatments and walking safaris.
