Kaingu Safari Lodge is wonderfully secluded and perfect for a romantic or family getaway. At KaingU there are 6 luxurious East African en-suite safari tents and a family house right on the Kafue River.
The well-appointed safari tents at KaingU offering Kafue River accommodation are situated on raised rosewood platforms at the riverside, affording exceptional views and privacy.

All 6 Tented Chalets at Kaingu Safari Lodge have mosquito nets, bedside lights and plugs. All the tents have spacious bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, wonderful for observing the night sky while enjoying the water.
Each chalet is positioned on its own elevated wooden deck, offering uninterrupted views over the Kafue River. Thatch roofing adds natural insulation while helping the tents blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.

The Family House at Kaingu Safari Lodge features two bedrooms (one with a queen-size bed and the other with twin beds) each with its own en-suite bathroom and outdoor shower.
A shared central living space opens onto a private deck with views over the river, making it an ideal choice for a couple travelling with children or a small group of friends. All accommodation is fitted with gauze-screened doors and windows, mosquito nets over the beds, and solar-powered bedside and bathroom lighting, in keeping with the lodge’s eco-friendly design.
Charging points for electronic devices are available in the central lodge area. Hot water is supplied by individual gas boilers, and a flask of filtered drinking water is provided for guests’ convenience.

Handcrafted from local Muchinga wood, the Tonga tree baskets at Kaingu Safari Lodge offer a truly distinctive and secure way to spend a night immersed in nature. Set seasonally in trees at breathtaking riverside locations, they invite you to fall asleep and wake to the soothing sounds of the Kafue River.
Whether enjoyed solo, with your guide, or as a group of up to six, this open-air experience brings you closer to the wild. And to settle the inevitable question: alongside the bucket-style bathroom, there is also a simple ash-pit drum toilet provided.
