Sanctuary Kusini is located in the south central area of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The park itself covers more than 14,763 square kilometers, making it one of the world’s largest wildlife sanctuaries.
The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai language meaning, “endless plains”. Part of Kusini’s charm is its remote and private location within the park borders. With no other camps in the near vicinity, Kusini offers exceptional and essentially private game viewing on your African safari holiday.
Kusini has a private airstrip, and flying time from Arusha is approximately 45 minutes. Road transfers from Ngorongoro Crater take approximately 3 hours with game viewing along the way.
All communication to Sanctuary Kusini is relayed via radio. Kusini maintains 24-hour radio contact with the Central Reservations Office in Arusha and all vehicles are equipped with two-way radios. In addition, all the safari tents are equipped with VHF radios to enable guests to contact the management in the event of an emergency. This Tanzania safari lodge is also equipped with a satellite telephone which guests have access to.
