Getting to Kariega Game Reserve

This is a wondrous African wilderness in the heart of the 1820 Settler Country with a rich historical heritage.

Kariega Game Reserve is situated in the malaria-free safari destination of the Eastern Cape at the end of South Africa's Garden Route. Set above the spectacular Kariega River Valley, the reserve is only a few minutes away from the golden beaches of the Indian Ocean.

Kariega Game Reserve is 1.5 hours drive from Port Elizabeth, 30 mins from Grahamstown and 10 mins from Kenton-on-Sea.

Directions to Kariega Game Reserve From Port Elizabeth

Travel the N2 from Cape Town along the Garden Route towards Grahamstown, and choose one of two alternative routes:

Route 1: The coastal route on the R72, via Alexandria to Kenton-on-Sea, where you turn inland and proceed 14 km on the R343. Route 2: Proceed on the N2 towards Grahamstown for about 110km and turn right before reaching Grahamstown onto the tarred road (R343)to Kenton-on-Sea for a distance of 32km.
