Camp Figtree is situated 75 kilometres (46.6 miles) or an hour's drive from Port Elizabeth, within South Africa's Eastern Cape province. The private game reserve borders The Addo Elephant National Park on 2 sides.
Summer (October to March) in Addo Elephant Park is a predominantly dry season with hot days and warm nights. Temperatures range from 25 to 40 degrees C (77 to 104 degrees F). Rainfall can be experienced during this period with exceptional summer rainfall in the north.
Winter (April to August) is the rainy season with generally cool days and cold nights. Temperatures range from 5 to 25 degrees C (41 to 77 degrees F).
Directions to Camp Figtree Lodge
- Take the N2 (North).
- Turn left onto the R335.
- Proceed for 45 km to the town of Addo.
- Continue though the town towards the entrance of the Addo National Park.
- Proceed for 12 km towards the Addo National Park, you will find signs indicating Camp Figtree on your left, turn left towards the Zuurberg Pass Road.
- Proceed up the pass for 10km.
- Turn left into the stone gates of Camp Figtree. Proceed slowly, while enjoying the view, to the lodge reception.
