At Kariega Game Reserve, the “Kids on Safari” programme at Main Lodge makes family safaris fun and educational, offering a daily children’s activity schedule (usually 11:00–14:00) where kids receive a goodie bag and take part in guided nature trails, crafts, animal-track moulding and environmental learning activities with a dedicated coordinator.
Children of all ages are welcome to join morning and afternoon game drives and river cruises with their parents (with some safety guidance for very young children), and there’s also a playroom stocked with toys, books and games for times when parents want to relax.
Babysitting services can be arranged on request, giving adults flexibility while the little ones enjoy bush-themed experiences.

At Kariega Game Reserve, the health spa and wellness centres provide a tranquil retreat from safari activities, perfect for relaxing body, mind and soul in serene bush surroundings.
The Kariega Wellness Centre at Main Lodge features two treatment rooms and a separate gym, and offers a variety of indulgent treatments and therapies including soothing and energising massages and facials, with spa services also available for guests staying at River Lodge, Settlers Drift and other lodges.
Whether you book in advance or after arrival, the spa experience adds a restful complement to game drives, bush walks and river cruises during your stay.
