A refuge in which Lion, Buffalo and Giraffe thrive, the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary offers insight into a fascinating ecosystem of flora and fauna, adjacent to Tsavo West National Park, Kenya.
There is an active wildlife management programme in place at the Sanctuary and the well being and safety of wildlife and visitors is constantly monitored. There are a number of well-marked roads around the Sanctuary which guests can self-drive with or without a ranger; certain sections are closed to traffic creating a haven for timid animal species.
Year round temperatures average 18-30 degrees C (67-91 degrees F). The early mornings and evenings are often much cooler. The rainy season occurs from November to December and March to May, with clear mornings and scattered showers in the afternoon or evening.
Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge is located within the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and just off Voi town, which is adjacent to Tsavo West National Park. The local airstrip is a convenient for transfers to the lodge.
