Amboseli National Park showcases these Classic East African landscapes with Elephants and Giraffes silhouetted against the snowy peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro. With emerald swamps, springs, acacia scrub, high wildlife concentrations and grassy savanna,
Amboseli is an oasis in Kenya’s south, with perfect views of Mount Kilimanjaro, especially at dawn and sunset. This relatively small park supports a wide range of mammals, well over 50 of the larger species, and birds with over 400 species.
The best time to visit Amboseli National Park in Kenya is during the dry seasons, which are generally January to March and June to October.
January to March: The weather is dry and the skies are usually clear, offering spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and excellent wildlife sightings as animals gather around the remaining water sources.
June to October: This is also a dry season, making wildlife easier to spot. Days are sunny and warm, and the park is generally less crowded than during peak holiday periods.
The wet seasons April–May and November bring lush scenery and fewer tourists, but some roads may become muddy and wildlife is more dispersed.
There are many luxury safari lodges as well as more basic accommodation to choose from in Amboseli National Park. At Amboseli safari lodges activities include game drives, guided walks and cultural tours to the Maasai villages to visit the Maasai people. Another popular activity is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
Amboseli lodges provide an unforgettable gateway to one of Kenya’s most iconic landscapes with breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
