Location of Salt Lick Safari Lodge

Salt Lick Safari Lodge is located in Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary next to Tsavo West National Park in Kenya. More than 50 mammal species enjoy protection in the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.

Guests can view Lion, Elephant, Cheetah, Giraffe, Buffalo and other wildlife on game drives.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary covers 28 000 acres of land and is adjacent to Tsavo West National Park in Kenya. Guests can see the Big Five in this area and over 300 species of bird, including Ostrich, Eagle and Vulture.

Effective wildlife management principles and responsible ecotourism have made the Taita Hills Sanctuary a success story for sustainable conservation. Guests at this Kenya wildlife retreat can explore the wonderful ecosystem of flora and fauna here, and in the Greater Tsavo National Park (East and West) where around 12 000 Elephant live.

Climate

Early morning and evening tend to be quite cool, but year round the temperature is between 18 and 30 degrees C or 67 and 91 degrees F. Rainy periods occur during November and December, and also from March through to May with clear mornings and some scattered showers later in the day and evening.

Getting to Salt Lick Safari Lodge

Salt Lick Safari Lodge is close to the town of Voi, the largest town in Taita-Taveta County, and just 8km (5 miles) from its sister lodge, Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge (which is closest to the airstrip). Both lodges are located in the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary which is adjacent to the Tsavo West National Park in Kenya.
