Makalali Game Reserve has something for everyone in a beautiful setting on the ultimate South Africa safari. Makalali Game Lodge is a child-friendly safari lodge and welcomes children of all ages. Baby sitting can be arranged and there are innovative mini-ranger programmes where children aged between 6 and 15 years can learn about the environment, graduate and receive a certificate.
The Mini-Rangers Course is available for children aged 6 to 15 guided by a trained ranger who has experience in handling children. Children will engage in interactive activities such as making a fire, how to track animals, and which plants have medicinal use. After completing a workbook, the children and their will be invited to a graduation ceremony where they will receive a certificate.
Game Viewing
Guests at Makalali Private Game Reserve can enjoy open vehicle game drives into the wilderness twice a day with traditional trackers as guides, the quality South Africa safari experience with highly trained rangers. Night drives take place after dinner and set out in search of the nocturnal wildlife. Guided bush walks are conducted after breakfast and introduce safari-goers to the smaller facets of the bush.

The function venue at Makalali Game Lodge is lovely for weddings and other events. Atmospheric flame torches can be lit outdoors in the evening; there is an open kitchen and an entertainment area. Tribal drumming and dancing can also be arranged.
