Within the Greater Kruger, Sandringham Private Game Reserve is a former hunting area undergoing an ambitious transformation into a protected wildlife sanctuary with luxury safari accommodation.
Since 2022, Sabi Sabi has been carefully rehabilitating the Sandringham Private Game Reserve, allowing its natural ecosystems to recover and wildlife to rediscover a landscape where nature can once again take the spotlight.
Almost 5,000 hectares of private wilderness including around four rivers, create a water-rich environment. The result is a landscape where varied vegetation supports exceptional birdlife, and wildlife can be seen drinking, bathing, swimming and wallowing in the water throughout the year.
Across the reserve there are just 12 suites and 2 villas, ensuring an exclusive safari experience with a very personal feel. You won’t be fighting for traversing rights, as you have the whole reserve for yourself!
N’weti and Shisaka are two luxury riverside camps, connected to a central lodge by elevated walkways, while Sandringham House offers an exclusive-use villa for families and groups.
Dining takes place in the main lodge with charming dining areas, a panoramic bar, open-air Boma and a wine cellar that offer atmospheric settings for evenings in the bush.
A safari at Sandringham Private Game Reserve is about more than ticking wildlife sightings off a list. Low-density game viewing and knowledgeable guides encourage you to slow down and understand the area. You will learn about animal behaviour and tracks to vegetation, birdlife and the intricate relationship between the river and wilderness.
