Location of Sandringham Private Game Reserve

Sandringham Private Game Reserve is positioned within the Greater Kruger area, in a landscape where an ambitious conservation story is unfolding.

Once a neglected hunting area, Sandringham Private Game Reserve is being rehabilitated into a protected sanctuary where wildlife is gradually reclaiming the land. Since 2022, Sabi Sabi's conservation team has worked to restore the reserve and rebuild trust between people and wildlife.

Today, almost 5,000 hectares of private wilderness provide an intimate setting for a wonderful safari. Four rivers flow through the reserve, creating an abundance of water and an environment that supports wildlife and birdlife throughout the year.

A Water-rich Wilderness

Water is one of Sandringham Private Game Reserve’s defining features.

The rivers don'r just pass through the landscape, they create focal points for wildlife activity. You can see animals drinking, bathing, and swimming in these rivers.

The reserve's location under the silhouette of the Drakensberg Mountains adds another striking element to the landscape, and the varied vegetation and waterways are great for birdwatching.

As a guest, your support makes you part of the reserve’s conservation story, as Sandringham continues its journey from a former hunting ground to a thriving wildlife sanctuary. It is a rare opportunity to experience a luxury Greater Kruger safari within a land that is undergoing a genuine ecological renewal.
