Safari at The Hide Safari Camp

There are a variety of activities available at The Hide Safari Camp, from walking safaris to game drives, bush breakfasts and more.

The Hide is situated at a waterhole, which enables the camp to be a game-viewing paradise. As one of the very few camps in the Hwange National Park, The Hide does its very best to produce the best African safari possible. From day and night game drives to bush walks and an evening in the 'Dove's Nest', you will have an enjoyable African safari. 

Walking Safaris

The walking safari is a timeless and unforgettable experience and is regarded by many as the finest on the African continent. The walking safari in Hwange National Park is a 4-day adventure into the lives of the wildlife. Guests will learn how to track wildlife while taking in everything around them. This is a rare and truly genuine African safari experience. 

Birding

When visiting Hwange National Park guests will be amazed at the variety of birds population with over 400 species recorded. Game drives are scheduled in the morning, afternoon and evening for 2-3 hours where guests will explore.

The driver will stop in a lovely spot for some delicious biscuits and some coffee or tea, while guests are further amazed by the area. On later drives, the coolboxes are pulled out when stopping to watch the amazing sunset.

Game Drives

A fleet of specially designed safari vehicles is available to explore the range of wildlife in Hwange National Park. The professional guides will take you through the acacia-fringed grassy vleis and forest as you search for the mighty Big Five in Hwange.

Game drives are offered at the Hide in the morning and late afternoon. On the concession additional night drives are available, guests are advised to bring with them a few extra layers to keep warm during the chilly nights and early mornings.

Waterhole Hides

The Underground Hide and Wine Cellar is ideally located and designed for adventure travellers. Seating is available at The Hide 'A' frame, this is where you can see a family of elephants strolling toward the waterhole as well as other animals.

Guests can go directly from the deck into the underground hide on their own, with no need for a host or guide. The underground tunnel takes you on a 10 metres walk that leads to the view of the waterhole.
