This area on the Zambezi River was specifically chosen for the Royal Zambezi Lodge so that a variety of activities could be made available.
Game Drives
The Lower Zambezi National Park is known for its huge Elephant and Buffalo herds. Game can also be seen along the river and on the islands. The open vehicle game drives and other adventures are led by experienced guides.
Safari Activities
Guests can also enjoy exciting night drives and walking safaris. Photographic and Birding Safaris are also available. Guided canoe trips and sunset Zambezi River cruises are great ways to see the prolific wildlife and birdlife which are drawn to the river.
Birdwatching
Bird watching enthusiasts can pass many happy hours on a Zambia vacation keeping a look out for the more than 300 bird species in this area.
Fishing
Tiger fishing is best between September and March (high summer). Guests can set off with a guide in fully kitted aluminium boats. Rods, tackle and flies are provided or guests can bring their own. Help and guidance is always available. The Royal Zambezi Lodge operates on a catch and release basis.
