The heart of Hawksmoor is the beautifully restored Cape Dutch Manor House, and to sleep here is to feel the quiet weight of three centuries of Winelands history. The 5 rooms are furnished with carefully chosen antiques - four-poster beds, warm fabrics, and pieces that invite you to slow down and look properly.
The Manor House has a grand dining room and entrance hall, a drawing room with fireplace and an honesty bar, a small library and a farmhouse kitchen. There is also direct access to the herb garden and verandah with lovely views over the pond and garden, towards Table Mountain.
Slave Quarters
Thoughtfully and sensitively restored, the 3 Slave Quarters rooms offer a more private, tucked-away experience. Each opens through French doors onto its own outdoor seating area, with the broad, beautiful farmlands rolling away towards the Stellenbosch Mountains beyond.
These rooms are especially lovely in the early evening, when the light turns golden and the mountains begin to glow, and there is nowhere you would rather be than right here, with a glass of Hawksmoor wine and nowhere to be.
Dairy Rooms
The 2 Dairy Rooms at Hawksmoor House look out over the farm's original whitewashed dairy buildings. Charming, unpretentious, and full of the kind of character that cannot be designed or manufactured.
Both open onto a shaded verandah wrapped in brilliant bougainvillea, creating a sheltered, colourful little world of their own. These rooms are ideal for those who want to feel genuinely embedded in the rhythms of a working Cape wine farm, waking to birdsong and the soft sounds of the countryside rather than the hum of a hotel corridor.
Edge House Villa
Edge House offers the greatest flexibility of all the buildings at Hawksmoor, with 6 rooms in total including 4 comfortable double or twin rooms and a 2-bedroom self-catering apartment with its own kitchen.
The villa is ideal for those who want a little more independence, the freedom to stock the fridge with local cheeses and Winelands wines, and the luxury of a private courtyard to call their own.
The entire Edge House can also be booked exclusively, making it a wonderful option for a small group of friends or an extended family who want to share the magic of the farm on their own terms.
