Position of Royal Zambezi Lodge, Lower Zambezi

The Royal Zambezi Lodge is situated on the edge of the Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia and has 3km (nearly 2 miles) of Zambezi River frontage at one of the widest points.

Located within the Game Management Area of the Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia, game drives from the lodge enjoy regular and reliable sighting of Lion, Leopard, Elephant and Buffalo amongst other plentiful game. The riverine ecosystem teems with fish and attracts over 300 species of bird.

Royal Zambezi Lodge guides between them have over 50 years experience in guiding in the Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia and in the beautiful valley. This scenic valley is watered all year round by the mighty Zambezi River as it carves its way through steep sided mountains and along the flat plains between two escarpments. The reed banks and islands support diverse animal populations.

Climate in the lower Zambezi Valley

The climate can vary greatly, but it is generally:

  • Cool and dry from April - August
  • Hot and dry from September - December
  • Wet and humid from January - March

Directions to Royal Zambezi Lodge

Royal Zambezi lodge is accessible by regular scheduled flights and chartered flights from Lusaka (25 minutes). All flights land at the propriety royal air strip which is ten minutes drive from the lodge.

Access by road and boat takes a minimum of five hours from Lusaka requiring a four wheel drive.
