Bakubung Bush Lodge is located in the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park in North West Province, South Africa. This South African malaria-free safari destination is home to the Big Five (Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo and Leopard) and over 360 different bird species.
Guests can easily access Bakubung Bush Lodge by car from Johannesburg. The drive from Johannesburg only takes about 2 hours, depending on traffic, making it ideal for a weekend safari getaway. Guests can also visit nearby Sun City, which is a mere 10 minute drive from Bakubung Bush Lodge.
From Fourways in Sandton, Johannesburg, take the N1 North towards Polokwane. Continue and take the N4 Rustenberg Split (toll road). Follow the road straight until you see a signboard on the left side of the road indicating Pilanesberg to the left on route 91. Exit left off the highway at the sign.
At the T-junction, turn right and continue along this road until you reach Sun City. Once you've reached Sun City, continue straight. After about 4km (2.48 miles) you will see a sign indicating you to turn right to Bakubung. Turn right at this sign and follow the road until it leads you to the Bakubung Gate and to Bakubung Bush Lodge.
