Drakensberg Accommodation at the Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is a choice between one of 11 uniquely decorated rooms each with personal touches of memorabilia collected from global family excursions. Each room comes with a manual that gives information about the decor influence of the room. All rooms are designed with the country living and rustic elegance philosophy that you will experience throughout the entire farmhouse.
The Italian Room
The Italian room is surrounded by Leonardo da Vinci inspired prints. Cream and white lace and linen fabric are used to emphasize the touches of beige and brown elegance of the furniture.
The Scandinavian Room
Kindly decorated with touches of red, green and white - this room is fit for a Viking. A unique art piece on the bathroom wall, just above the ball-and-claw bathtub, will provide a tranquil atmosphere during bath time.
The Naturalist Room
The vintage ball-and-claw bathtub with a unique art piece hanging against the wall will make bath time an unforgettable experience. Art pieces of birds and are strategically placed on the walls to ensure guests a relaxing atmosphere.
The Darjeeling Room
This suite is decorated with porcelain tea cups and blue and white wares as fine art pieces. Delicate wooden furniture and white quilted blankets will allow guests to relax and experience comfort.
The Garden Room
Decorated with porcelain and enamel kitchenware, you will be transported to a magical and rustic home of a garden gnome.
The Colonial Natal Room
The black and white accents of the room will transport you back to the colonial era. The wall is decorated with collectable from the trekkers and vintage illustrations.
The Classical Room
This room is decorated with statues inspired by ancient Rome and accents of black and gray is finely used to compliment the simplicity of the white walls and the dark floors.
The Postcard Room
Experience the suitcase life in this room that creates the atmosphere of a nomadic lifestyle, from its vintage photographs and postcards that hang neatly on the freshly painted walls to the suitcase coffee table.
The Blue and White Room
On cold nights guests can sit next to the crackling fireplace in the lounge area of the room. Delicate blue and white porcelain ware can be found throughout the room.
The Swedish Naturalist Room
Rustic luxury will be experienced in this blue, red and white decorated suite. Explore your inner botanist at this suite that have art of birds and fauna decorated on the walls.
The Cowboy Room
Also known as the Honeymoon Suite, this room will transport you to the Wild West. The hues of the room are decorated with touches of red and brown that will create warmth and romance.
Facilities
The farmhouse has a lounge area where guests are invited to enjoy tea and pastries in front of a crackling fire on cold nights. Browse through the selection of fine wines at the underground wine cellar that include South African wines and French champagne. The family run farmhouse has its own library where guest can relax while paging through chapters of a book and observe as the weavers build their nests at the other side of the window.
The farmhouse has its own garden where fresh produce is collected daily to contribute to the mouthwatering meals that are whipped up by Chef Richard and his team. Guests can enjoy romantic strolls in the gardens to admire the beautiful flora.
