The Experience

The marathon takes place in the vicinity of Victoria Falls town and within a national park where wildlife can often be seen. Armed game rangers are posted at intervals in the wilderness sections to keep a lookout. There is great support along the route and many runners enjoy the social aspect of the race as well as the wonderful views of the gorge and river. Great media coverage has been enjoyed in the past - so you could spot yourself on Super Sport.

The route takes a steep path down toward the historic iron bridge over the gorge then turns left along the Zambezi River, through the Victoria Falls National Park and around the outskirts of town, past the golf course, along the road between the Zambezi National Park and the river before doubling back to town and the eventual finish at the primary school. The shorter races take part within this route with some variations.
