Attractions at Victoria Falls

Here are a few other attractions and things to do at Victoria Falls apart from the usual popular activities. Think out the box!

Horse Riding at Victoria Falls

Guided horse riding excursions are available on both sides of the Victoria Falls and can be tailored to the riders' experience level. During the dry season, in particular, big game is often encountered and most rides afford great views of the spray cloud of the Falls.

Casinos

Gambling has been a feature of the Victoria Falls area since the regular poker sessions at Old Drift at the end of the 19th century. Today, the main casino in the area is the Kingdom Hotel on the Zimbabwean side of the river. Try your luck with blackjack or roulette.

Spas and massage

Most of the upmarket lodges and hotels offer massages and several have half- day and all-day spa experiences. The best massage experience in the region is probably that offered by The Royal Livingstone Hotel's Royal Spa in tented gazebos right on the banks of the Zambezi with views over the river.

Here, one can experience a Swedish, sportsman's or aromatherapy rub or the local speciality, the Zambian ukuchina. The Zig Zag in Livingstone has shiatsu and other massages, while in Victoria Falls a great massage can be had at the Kingdom Hotel, Elephant Hills, Victoria Falls Hotels and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Check with your guest services or booking agent about availability.

Shop for Beautiful African Art and Crafts

There is a lively and dynamic art and curio industry in both Victoria Falls and Livingstone.

You are urged to explore the craft markets on both sides of the Zambezi River.

The best places to buy curios are:

  • the Craft Village complex in Victoria Falls
  • the Mukuni Craft Village close to the border post on the Zambian side of the river
  • the Mukuni Park craft market in central Livingstone.
