Make the most of a beautiful evening in Victoria Falls and take a night drive into the African wilderness. Your nocturnal safari introduces you to a very different world and a whole new experience.
Any adventure into the African bush will heighten your senses
and set your pulse racing. The very nature of your surroundings, its unfamiliarity and wildness, lets you know that you are entering the unknown.
The bush changes constantly with the seasons and from day to night. What you spot on a morning safari will be different
from that in the afternoon. At night, after sunset, there is a changing of the guard again and you could encounter a range of animals that are seldom seen.
Victoria Falls Experience
In the early evening you'll be collected from your Victoria Falls hotel and driven to a private game reserve near town. It is a short drive of about 10 minutes but in that time you will feel as if you have well and truly left the familiar behind. The reserve occupies a pristine wilderness which borders on the Zambezi National Park. This is a big game area
and home to animals such as Rhino, Lion and Elephant, Buffalo and Leopard plus a variety of plains game. Predators are active while prey stay constantly on alert in the night hours.
As the sun sinks your ranger will steer the 4x4 safari vehicle through a changing landscape of open plains and Teak forest on dry Kalahari sands, and also skirt the shores of a lake. You may spot a pride of Lion on the prowl and Elephant moving under the trees.
After your night drive you'll be taken to a boma (a traditional open-air enclosure) for a wonderful dinner under the stars
. You can relax around a blazing fire and enjoy a 3 course meal complemented by beer, wine and light refreshments.
While savouring the atmosphere and conversation you'll be able to hear wildlife calls in the night and see animals (possibly even Leopard) coming the waterhole to drink. Spending time around the campfire in this way is an unforgettable experience. Later, you will be returned to your hotel.
