This picturesque Tarangire safari hideaway is exclusive to the southwestern corner of Tarangire National Park in Tanzania, which gives you a really private game viewing experience and a privileged glimpse of Africa untrammelled by mass tourism. This area is famous for large herds of Elephants and over 300 species of birds.

Animals roam freely through this Tanzania game lodge in Tarangire, including Impala (after which the camp is named), Waterbuck, Lions and various groups of Elephant. There is even a resident Leopard that puts in an occasional guest appearance at the waterhole while you eat dinner.

Sanctuary Swala Camp's main dining area, lounge, deck and library are lifted on stilts around a beautiful ancient baobab tree. Guests are accommodated in luxurious canvas pavilions with views over the waterhole and the newly formed Lake Gursi stretching 12km, which attracts wildlife.
