What to do at Garden Route Game Lodge
The knowledgeable rangers not only point out the big game on game drives, but also teach guests interesting facts about antelope species, bird life and local African folklore.
Wildlife that can be seen on your Western Cape safari holiday includes Wildebeest, White Rhino, Lion, Elephant, Kudu, Zebra and Giraffe. Guests may also visit the recently established Cheetah Breeding Centre where you will gain insight into the plight of this endangered species. Also visit the Reptile Centre, and learn more about snakes, Nile Crocodiles and other cold-blooded creatures.
During your stay in the Garden Route, you can partake in Elephant and reptile encounters. Touch, feed and photograph the grey giants of the bush during a controlled Elephant feeding activity. For the more adventurous, reptile encounters allow you to handle some of the spine-chilling snakes on a guided tour.
Explore the various skulls found in the garden , ranging from large mammals to tiny skulls. The garden can be enjoy with or without a guide.
Garden Route Game Lodge's conference centre provides the ideal setting for conferences, bush breakaways, team building and group incentive weekends. The centre is built from stone and thatch and is air-conditioned. The facility accommodates up to 60 delegates and is equipped with all the necessary AV equipment. The nearby breakaway lapa is used for refreshment breaks and has a lovely view over a waterhole.
Weddings at Garden Route Game Lodge
The Lobola Chapel and the Serengeti Bar and Lounge create a beautiful setting for your wedding. The venue can accommodate between 120 and 200 guests, and has a dance area. Staff will take care of arrangements, including flowers, a vicar, photographer, hair and make-up, wedding cake and the Honeymoon suite. Lodging can also be arranged for guests attending the ceremony.
A menu of traditional safari cuisine as well as international favourites and a selection of fine South African wines is served at this Garden Route lodge. Special children’s menus and meal times are available. Views of the valleys can be enjoyed from the expansive wooden decks at the restaurant.
The Bush Spa boasts a range of spa treatments including massages, manicures and pedicures, as well as a featured plunge pool. Guests are driven in an open safari vehicle to the stone and thatch treatment room, which overlooks the game reserve.
