Getting to Ulusaba Rock Lodge, Sabi Sands

Ulusaba Rock Lodge is located in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve.

The Rock Lodge is located in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in South Africa. This African safari lodge is located in Big Five territory adjacent to the Kruger National Park. There is no other experience like that of an African safari lodge with an amazing range of fauna and flora. You will learn so much watching the predators hunt, and how the females take care of their young.

How to get there:

By Air:

Ulusaba is an hour and 20 minute flight from Johannesburg. Ulusaba has its own private airstrip and there are daily scheduled and charter flights available.

By Road:

From Johannesburg, take the N4/N12 to Nelspruit. Follow the R40 from Nelspruit through White River to Hazyview. As you approach Hazyview, you will come across a T-junction. Turn left at this junction. This road will take you into Hazyview Town. Carry on straight through the first set of traffic lights. At the intersection with the second set of traffic lights you will see a signpost reading 'Paul Kruger Gate'. At this signpost, turn right. This road is the R536.

After 32 kilometres (19.9 miles), you will see a signpost for Ulusaba to Newington Gate. This is where you enter the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Here you pay R60 entrance fee before proceeding through Newington Gate. Follow all the signposts to Ulusaba. Travel for approximately 17 kilometres (10.6 miles) after entering Newington Gate. The drive will take approximately 5-6 hours.
