What to See at Sea-View Zum Sperrgebiet 4* Luderitz

Amongst the many activities that one can do at Hotel Zum Sperrgebiet, there are sightseeing tours to the many places of interest in Namibia.

There are two conference rooms at the hotel - 20 delegates can be accommodated in banquet style seating or in cocktail style seating.

Sightseeing:

A sight seeing trip to Kolmanskop is a definite must during your Namibia vacation, at one time it was the centre of Namibia's thriving diamond industry, today a ghost town that is gradually being swallowed by the sands of the Namib. Guests can also see the Bogenfels, a spectacular 55metre (180.4 feet) high rock arch jutting into the Atlantic ocean, and on the way the old German diamond digging towns of Pomona, Idatal and Märchental (must be booked well in advance).

Dias Cross is a true replica of the original cross-planted by the Portuguese seafarer Bartolomeu Dias in July 1488 at Dias point. Felsenkirche, Church on the rock was built in 1906 and renowned for its beautiful stained glass windows.

Visit the Lüderitz museum during your Namibia vacation, a jewel of the past and a must for every visitor. Bird watching at the lagoon, where large numbers of marine birds can be seen, includes Penguins and Flamingos. Go on the Sedina Boat Trip, a daily boat trip (weather permitting) to Halifax Island, the home of the Jackass penguin. The famous a-la-carte restaurant is specialising in fresh seafood, including lobster, caught by local fishermen in the unspoilt coastal waters.
