Altes Landhaus is the perfect base from which to explore the scenic attractions of the Little Karoo and the natural beauty of the Garden Route. A fascinating Ostrich show farm and a wildlife ranch and Cheetah sanctuary are a short distance away. The Cango Caves and the magnificent Swartberg Mountain are nearby.
How to Get There:
From Cape Town
Take the N1 to Worcester and the R60 to Montagu. Continue on the R62 through Barrydale, Ladismith and Calitzdorp to Oudtshoorn. In Oudtshoorn continue straight until you reach Baron van Reede Street (3rd traffic light) and turn left. Continue towards the Cango Caves for 14 km and turn left at the Schoemanshoek sign post, pass the church on your right and follow the signs to the lodge.
Take the N9 / N12 over the Outeniqua pass to Oudtshoorn. In Oudtshoorn, continue straight along the main road towards the Cango Caves. After 14 km turn left at the Schoemanshoek sign post, pass the church on your right and follow the signs that will lead you to Altes Landhaus Country Lodge.
