Getting to Kafunta River Lodge, South Luangwa

Kafunta River Lodge is set in riverside forest on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the South Luangwa National Park.

Situated in the Luangwa Valley, the park forms part of the Great Rift Valley and is an ecological unspoilt wilderness area in Zambia. It is undoubtedly one of Africa's best-kept secrets. Experience its renowned concentration of mammals including Leopard and Lion, prolific bird life and large numbers of Hippo and Crocodile in the river systems.

Getting There

By Flight

Mfuwe International Airport caters for charters and scheduled flights that connect with major international carriers from Lusaka (the Zambian capital) and Lilongwe (Malawi's capital). Kafunta River Lodge is 45 minutes drive from the airport and transfers are included in the prices.

By Road

When travelling by road South Luangwa National Park is approximately 5 hours from Lilongwe or 8 to 10 hours drive from Lusaka. Kafunta River Lodge is well signposted from Chipata.
