How to Get to River Bend Lodge in Addo Elephant Park

River Bend Country Lodge and Conservancy is incorporated into Addo Elephant Park. It is close to the historic town of Grahamstown.

River Bend Lodge is situated in the Eastern Cape, 70 kilometres (43 miles) from Port Elizabeth within the greater Addo Elephant National Park on the 14 000 Private Nyati Concession. The River Bend Private Intsomi Reserve is located adjacent to the park and spans an area of 7 500 hectares.

The River Bend citrus farm borders the Intsomi Reserve. It's an hour drive inland from Port Elizabeth which has a major airport and is the eastern most town of the Garden Route. River Bend Country Lodge is the natural extension to a Garden Route tour from Cape Town, and has the added bonus of being malaria free.

Directions to River Bend Lodge

From Port Elizabeth by Car:

Depart Port Elizabeth on the N2 towards Grahamstown. While still on the double carriageway, take the R335 off-ramp signposted Motherwell. Continue along this road for +- 43 km until you reach the village of Addo (see garage on your left).

Continue for a further 11.5 km after the village and turn left at the turn-off signposted: Zuurburg/Dave Marais Camp/Slagboom. About 3.5 km along this road you will see the River Bend gates on your right.
