Ant’s Nest offers a personal and flexible home from home experience. The luxurious en-suite rooms accommodate a maximum of only 12 guests. With spacious rooms and vast folding doors the thatched lodge blends into the bush while the exotic furniture and brightly coloured African fabrics make it both sophisticated and comfortable.
Nestled in the landscaped gardens, the expansive pool blends naturally into the surroundings. There is a wonderful thatched covered lounge area furnished with large sofa beds for those in need of a siesta or respite from the sun.
Located in the original farmhouse, the two rooms are connected by a passage that links to a public sitting area. There, guests can find an intimate library of books, an open fireplace, as well as an indoor dining and bar area.
The one suite is a double room with an en-suite bathroom, and a private verandah that leads to an outdoor sitting area and scenic views. Next door, there is another suite that can be made up as a twin or double room, and has its own bathroom.
This double room with an en-suite bathroom is set in a traditional thatched roof rondavel. This romantic escape is ideal for couples, or for parents travelling with a child, and has its own private verandah and seating area.
The main house has an upstairs suite ideal for families. The master bedroom has a extra king-size bed with an en-suite bathroom with a waterfall shower and a bathtub, and a dressing area. The second bedroom has twin beds or a double bed, and an additional bed can be arranged for a third child.
The suite has a sitting area and a large fireplace, a dining are with a mini-bar as well as tea/coffee making facilities, and a shady verandah.
This en-suite room has a bath and separate shower, a king-size bed and a large verandah overlooking the bush. Extra beds can be added for parents travelling with up to two children.
Ant's Nest takes great pride in its sumptuous home cooking, and dining takes place outside under shady trees whenever possible. Morning game activities are often ended with a bush lunch, whilst at guests can sit around open fires under the stars at night. Excellent South African estate wines are served. The lodge caters for all dietary requirements and a vegetarian menu is available.
