How to Get to Sayari Camp, Serengeti

Sayari Camp in the Serengeti National Park has a prime location to witness Mara River wildebeest migration crossings.

The Serengeti can be visited throughout the year, except perhaps during the season of the long rains from mid-April to May. Altitudes in the Serengeti range from 900 to 1800 metres which is higher than most of Europe. Temperatures therefore vary from 15 degrees to 25 degrees Celsius, with chilly evenings from June to October.

Endless plains and riverine woodlands are home to abundant African wildlife like Leopard, Elephant, Lion, Cheetah, large herds of antelope and many other species. The Mara River, filled with Crocodiles and Hippos, cuts through this part of Tanzania.

The Serengeti boasts one of the greatest spectacles nature has to offer: the wildebeest crossings of the Mara River during the Great Migration in Tanzania. Between June and October, the wildebeest Migration typically visits this area in the Serengeti and crosses the Mara River back and forth in search of green grass.
