Sanctuary Swala Camp offers a fantastic Tarangire safari in the secluded south-west of Tarangire National Park on the Northern Safari Circuit of Tanzania.

Where is Sanctuary Swala Camp

Sanctuary Swala Camp is located in the Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania. The park is an easy 115 kilometers from Arusha on an excellent road and the camp itself is another 67 kilometers into the park. This section of the park is exceptionally private with no other camps around. Sanctuary Swala Camp itself is located under a canopy of Acacia Tortillis, creating a beautiful setting.

Swala has a sister camp called Kusini in the Serengeti, also on the Northern Safari Circuit. These Tarangire safari camps compliment each other as both are in remote and wild safari areas, and they provide the same high standards of comfort, elegance and knowledgeable staff.

The Tarangire River is the centrepiece of the park, which is famous for some of the largest herds of Elephants in Africa. Plus its unusual Baobab tree forests and over 300 species of birds. Swala has scheduled flights to a nearby airstrip.

Getting to Sanctuary Swala Camp in Tanzania

Guest can make use of the scheduled and charter flights from Arusha. The flying time from Arusha is about 45 minutes, followed by a 30 minute drive from the airport to Sanctuary Swala Camp.

Sanctuary Swala Camp has a private airstrip. Road transfers from Arusha takes approximately 3-and-a-half hours with game viewing. Swala Camp lies at the edge of the Gurusi wetlands with unfurling savannah beyond. There are no other camps in the area, which gives you the feeling that you are the only ones on safari in a massive area full of game.
