Access to Susuwe Island Lodge

Your African safari lodge is set on the remote Birre Island, in the Kwando River of the Caprivi Strip in north eastern Namibia.

Susuwe Island Lodge is situated on the Carmine bend of the Kwando River. Migratory herds of Elephant move through the area in vast numbers. Buffalo, Leopard, Lion, and Wild Dog do occur in the area as well.

Charter to Immelman landing strip. Co-ordinates: S 17°46' 500', E 023°18' 300' Ref: (Mpacha-Katima Mulilo) Length of runway:- 1300m, Direction: 0927. Guests will be transferred from the landing strip to Susuwe Island Lodge in open 4x4 vehicle.

When travelling by road you travel west along the main road between Katima Mulilo and Rundu. Turn south at Kongola for 6 kms (3.7 miles) and take the Kubunyana Camp turnoff (right).

Travel 4 kms (2.5 miles) on a sandy road and leave the vehicle at Kubunyana from where guests will be transferred by boat to Susuwe Island Lodge. Beware of cattle and goats on the roads when driving in Namibia.
