How to Get to Ongava Lodge

Located on a hill overlooking sweeping plains on the boundary of Etosha, Namibia

Ongava Lodge is situated south of Okaukuejo in a private game reserve on the southern boundary of Etosha National Park, Namibia.

The Ongava Game Reserve is one of the largest private reserves in Namibia; however guests will be welcomed personally. Limited numbers of guests are taken at one time to keep the Ongava experience small and service levels unmatched.

This Namibia safari lodge near Etosha National Park is an ideal base from which to see the delights of Namibia's largest game park. Ongava Lodge is close to the Anderssen Gate of this awesome National Park.

How to get to Ongava Lodge, Namibia:

By air:

Aircraft whether private or charter, can fly directly to the 1 200 metre Ongava airstrip within the reserve.

Air strip details:

  • Ongava Air strip co-ordinates: S 19.19.7, E 015 54.9
  • 1 700 metre long with calcrete dirt surface.
  • Aircraft up to a 19-seater Beechcraft can be accepted
  • The altitude 3774 feet

Flying times:

To / from Windhoek 1 hour and 30 minutes.
To / from Swakopmund 1 hour and 45 minutes.

By road:

From Windhoek take the B1 to Otjiwarongo, then the C38 via Outjo towards Okaukuejo. Turn left off the tarmac road at the signpost to Ongava directly opposite the Ombika Gate entrance to Etosha.

Transfer:

Transfers between Windhoek and Ongava are available, on request for groups of four or more, subject to availability.
