Masuwe’s expert wildlife guides host early morning and evening walks on Masuwe which offer the perfect opportunity to discover some of the smaller details of the surrounding bush. Keep an eye out for some of the 196 species of birds found here, due to the Masuwe River.
Amble Out on a Game Drive
Head out on morning and evening game drives in the Chamabonda National Park, a subsection of the Zambezi National Park which begins at the Victoria Falls and stretches some 40km up-river. This is the place to spot elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, a variety of antelope species, hyena, lion, leopard and much, much more.
Explore Victoria Falls
Don’t forget to set aside a day for a tour of Victoria Falls. Get a bird’s eye view of Mosi Oa Tunya (the smoke that thunders) – take a helicopter ride over Victoria Falls. Experience one of Africa’s biggest thrills – white water rafting on the Zambezi River.
Navigating up to 19 rapids - August to late December, low water is the most thrilling. End the day with a cold drink on one of the sundowner cruises above Victoria Falls (along the Zambezi River).
The Best Dining Seats in the House
Dining at Masuwe Lodge takes place in the open-air dining room overlooking the nearby waterhole. During the evenings the waterhole is floodlit and makes for excellent game viewing. Masuwe also features a braai (BBQ) area where meat is grilled regularly. In the mornings you can enjoy views over the bush in the main dining area.
On a side note, the staff even arrange a Chill Out Breakfast Hamper, which can be delivered to your room at a time that suits you.
