The Makokola Retreat lies on the southern shore of Lake Malawi and is situated just north of Mangochi. The craftsmen of this area are very inventive. Stands of hats compete with toys along the Malawi safari lakeside to become a memory of the time spent at Lake Malawi.
You can get to The Makokola Retreat by air to the Malawi safari club's airstrip which is available to private and commercial traffic.

The Makokola Retreat has its own airstrip that is also open to private aircrafts.
A charter company will offer you regular direct flights from Lilongwe International Airport in Malawi's capital city to the lakeshore. Flying time is approximately 30 minutes from the airport.
By Road:
The Retreat is well connected to Malawi’s main cities by national tar roads. This Malawi retreat can organize group transfers to and from The Makokola Retreat. Rental cars can also be arranged at the airports, as well as through the resort.
