An absolute highlight at the Onguma Forest Camp in Namibia is a sundowner drive. About two hours before sunset we drive into the bush with an off-road vehicle. On the way to our Sundowner place at Fishers Pan our guides will talk about the miracles of nature. In the great outdoors it is not possible to say which kind of game you will see. Each tour is different and brings new experiences and surprises. With a glass of gin-tonic in hand we savour an unforgettable sundowner at Fischers Pan.
Being directly adjacent to the Etosha National Park the Onguma Forest Camp is a perfect starting point for game viewing. There is a short nature path along the dry river bed Omuramba Owambo leading from the Lodge to a waterhole near by. We have marked all interesting trees and bushes with numbers on a 2km long route. In a detailed list you can read all about the special characteristics of these plants. If you prefer, one of our tour guides can accompany you. At the waterhole there is a small hide where you can stay a while and watch the activities - particularly in the early morning or evening.
There are wonderful bird watching possibilities all around the Onguma Forest Camp. In addition to the resident bird population the various migratory birds enhance the variety. The small bird bath next to the terrace of the Lapa attracts many birds.
